I make it a point to take M65 so I can stop here on my way to eat. Everything I have tried has been terrific. I get "to go" bread puddings to take back to my husband. For us to have dessert together. Servings are nice size. I can't eat it all, but I am small. I highly recommend to everyone.

Very expensive for poor quality food. Service was beyond awful would never go back again. Also you are charge extra if you use a debt/credit card. Not nice staff at all. Highly don't recommend

Love this little place! Good food with a "Cheers" type atmosphere. Large wine selection.

A must stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or all three! Love the catfish on Friday, best hush puppies ever and homemade chicken n dumpling soup yumm. Love the coffee and service from Mary is excellent every time. Did I mention the pies!

Bear's Den Restaurant was excellent! I was there for breakfast and I got the sun dried tomato tomato black olive feta cheese omelette and it was excellent! A must try if you go here. The restaurant was very clean and the waitress was very polite and nice. I would definitely come back to this restuarant!

Once again excellent food! This place was truly busy tonight. We walked in behind a party of nine. Other large parties followed us in. One waitress there, Mary, and she was hopping!

They have the best Italian and fish!!! Also the homemade pies are great specially the peanut butter pie!!

I was served a piece of raw smelt. My husband got hair cooked right in the fries. Just a bad experience.

Terrible service. Went for a pick up. They told us 10 mins. I got there right on time and I still had to wait an additional 15 minutes. I would understand if they was busy but I had the only order up. The cook was too busy talking on the phone instead of cooking. And to top it all off. There was hair in all our food. Great job.

We've had both breakfast and carry out dinner from here and both meals were fantastic. My husband has driven past this places for years and never stopped, now he's wishing he would have :) We had an omelette and biscuits and gravy both were great. For dinner we ordered a cheeseburger and spaghetti as carry out meal, the spaghetti was great, super hot when I got it home and came with garlic bread and cole slaw. I wish we could find their menu online but now have a paper copy. We'll be back!

Stopped to see the Bear stayed for the food.Had a Bear and various animals to watch. Always wondered what was here. The restaurant was nice. I had the homemade chicken & Dumpling soup. Dumplings were good but only shreds of chicken. Tasted homemade and was flavorful just disappointed about the chicken

I have been here multiple times, the food is always delicious hot and fresh and always have excellent customer service!! Will definatly be back!!

The Bear Den is an unassuming country restaurant that should get a bigger sign. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly. They even serve beer. Overall this place is a must stop in Hale.

The food is very yummy! There were only 2 waitresses and they worked their butts off!! The place was full. They did a perfect job!

I would recommend taking in the Bears Den Restaurant to all who enjoy great food and great service! The atmosphere is so relaxed with knotty pine on the walls that gives you a warm at home feeling. The owner Peggy Lewis prepares each meal with the skill of a seasoned chef. This is a hidden treasure, stop in and enjoy!

We are located inside the Huron-Manistee National Forest, there are not many of anything from which to choose. The Bear's Den was a good tasting restaurant when we moved up here 20 years ago. Now, with all the updates and much more to offer, such as special orders, vegetarian dishes, most excellent pizza and liquor to boot, I would consider this a high end Ma + Pa Restaurant. The ambience is quaint and cozy. So are the owners, Peggy and Fred. They put all the frills in their fine cooking and service. Enjoy!

Great food & service. Love the animals for viewing as well! A bear, foxes, Patagonian cavy, wallabees, etc.. Just a great experience!

Small and friendly restaurant. Very clean with home cooked meals, food is excellent and they also offer the best pizzas around. Highly recommend this restaurant. And oh did I mention they have homemade chicken and dumpling soup every day....

Chicken dumpling soup was definitely homemade and delicious! Generous portion of chicken tenders with excellent homemade BBQ sauce. We'll be back... To try breakfast in the morning!
